Although it wasn’t something we were going to tackle for “years” we ended up needing to add walls and insulation to the second bedroom in the basement to cover the new wiring that went in for the main floor. Our handiwork with studs and drywall are seen in earlier posts, but this weekend brought paint and trim work. 6” baseboards, chair rail, and then the most challenging piece - the window trim and sill. Thankfully, it actually turned out to be not too difficult to learn. We’re still figuring out how to cut boards long and then trim down to fit, but luckily McKenna has yet to see a board cut too short that she can’t fix with putty and caulk.
Whoever stays with us next will likely be staying in this brand spanking new bedroom. It boasts a silent heating system, great bookshelves, closet, and the best proximity to a full bath of any guest room in the house!
