The new stove

You may know that getting a new stove has been high on the priority list for us. For reasons more complicated than are worth recounting, there was not one we could use when we moved in. For a while, this was okay — in the summer, we mostly grilled outside on our new grill (thanks Mom!) — but the time came that we really needed a stove indoors.

Since we spend lots of time cooking and in the kitchen, the stove is perhaps the most important appliance for both of us, and we wanted to invest in something that we’d love. With a little help from our friend Don at Almvig’s, we got a great deal on a Thermador 36” gas range (it has six burners!).

Needless to say, we love it and we’ve been doing our best to break it in…. This weekend, Marshall and Kyle used it to boil wort for homebrewing and roasted a pound of coffee in the oven!
