McKenna just finished a two-week marathon of remodeling work under the guidance of Magali, who came up from Santa Cruz to offer her remodeling knowledge and skills. The big project on the docket was adding insulation and drywall to the soon-to-be bedroom downstairs.
A few things learned:
The insulation we used, called UltraTouch (an eco- and human-friendly product made from recycled denim) was great! Anyone who has come into contact with fiberglass insulation knows how awful it is. This stuff, on the contrary, is touchable, breathable and easy to install!
Drywall is difficult to install! McKenna has decided this is her least favorite project so far. Of course, installing the panels is just the beginning…next come three coats of mud and tape and lots and lots of sanding.
